Mumbai: The city crime branch on Monday grilled Chandresh Patel alias Chandbhai, a former Ranji player who was recently released on bail in the IPL spot-fixing case.
“We interrogated him as he was in touch with wanted bookies such as Jitendra alias Jitu Tharat and Pintu. We wanted to find out if he has any knowledge of their whereabouts,” said an officer. “We will summon him on Tuesday for another round of questioning. ”
A local court on Monday relaxed the bail restrictions imposed on accused Vindhu Dara Singh. The court had directed him to visit the crime branch office every alternate day.
The magistrate court agreed with his lawyer’s contention that as the offence was bailable, no restrictions could be imposed. TNN
