VVIP chopper scam: India won’t get involved in arbitration process, says Antony

New Delhi: Defence minister AK Antony on Monday took a stand on the VVIP chopper scam and said that India will not get involved in the arbitration process initiated by the company.

The reaction from the Defence Minister came after the arbitration clause was invoked by AgustaWestland after it denied any wrongdoing on its behalf.

The denial by the firm came after Antony said that the company had violated contract against it and hence action was being taken against them.

The company even nominated a retired Supreme Court judge for arbitration with the Defence Ministry.

Antony also said called for punishment for those involved in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and said that India will not be satisfied till they are punished.

“India will not be satisfied unless Pakistan punishes the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai terror strikes,” Antony said.
