‘Solar scam accused, MoS had sexual ties’

KOLLAM: Solar scam main accused Biju Radhakrishnan's advocate Jacob Mathew claimed he was in possession of videos showing Saritha S Nair, Biju's estranged wife and co-accused in the scam, had sexual relationships with Union MoS K C Venugopal, state minister A P Anilkumar and former minister K B Ganesh Kumar.

He alleged that crime branch IG M R Ajithkumar too had sexually exploited Saritha. "The visuals show that Saritha was sexually exploited at a lakeside resort in Thekkady, residences of K C Venugopal's friends in New Delhi and at the official residence of Kochi city police commissioner", he said.

Venugopal and Anilkumar challenged the lawyer to make the visuals public. Ajithkumar said he would initiate legal action against Mathew for levelling baseless allegations.

Solar scam accused to sue lawyer, netas

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair will file a defamation suit against advocate Jacob Mathew who claimed to have video tapes showing political leaders, including ministers, exploiting her sexually.

Her counsel Pheney Balakrishnan said his client would file cases against Jacob Mathew, the counsel of co-accused Biju Radhakrishnan in some cases, and some political leaders for making defamatory statements against her. But he refused to say if a case would be filed against opposition leader V S Achuthanandan who had leveled similar allegations.

"Saritha wishes to file a complaint against Jacob Mathew and some political leaders for making defamatory statements against her. In addition, a complaint will be filed against Jacob Mathew in the Bar Council as well," he said, adding that he would meet his client at Attakkulangara jail here on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, Saritha denied the existence of such video clips. She also told a court in Kochi that she had a few complaints to make. She was allowed to speak with her counsel for a few minutes, and granted permission to make a statement, which could be recorded later.

Those named by Mathew - Union minister K C Venugopal and tourism minister A P Anil Kumar - have denied the allegations and said such tapes, if they existed, should be revealed.

Pheny hoped that Saritha would get released in a couple of weeks as there were only a few more cases in which bail had to be obtained. "She has got bail in 25 cases. Only a few more are left, in which the bail is expected in another couple of weeks," he said.

He said some cases had been settled out of court. It is learnt that eight cases had been settled out of court by paying compensation. Police are yet to file chargesheets in six of the 33 Team Solar cases, which are being probed by a special team headed by ADGP (south zone) A Hemachandran.
